5 Things You Have to Do in New York
The number of things to do in New York is mind boggling especially if it is your first time to the great city. A great time to visit New York is between October and the end of December with a number of American celebrations including Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas so here is a list of 5 things you have to do in New York during this time.
1) Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center
The famous Christmas Tree is a Norway Spruce which stands 21m to 30m has been put up in Rockefeller Center since 1931. A beautiful thing to behold and a must do if you are in New York in December. Whilst there you can enjoy the art deco surroundings, the galleries, the shops and you can take a visit to the viewing platform to enjoy the spectacular views of New York’s skyline.
2) Ice Skating in Central Park
Ice skating is a great thing to do in the winter and there is no better place to enjoy doing it than in the impressive Central Park. Enjoy roasted chestnuts from a street vendor and a warm hot chocolate after your time on the ice. You can also enjoy the fountains and the lakes, hopefully touched with a frosting of snow.
3) New Years Eve in Times Square
Times Square has the annual ball drop on New Year’s Eve. Times Square is an iconic landmark and symbol of United States of America and the best time of the year to visit is New Year Eve when the celebrations are enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people.
4) Culture and Sport
Whether you are into the arts or love sports both are available to be enjoyed in New York. Enjoy a baseball game as the Mets and the Yankees, both have their stadiums in the city. Look at the plaques adorning the walls of the Yankee Stadium, which pay tribute to the Baseball greats such as Babe Ruth. If you love modern art then the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must see.

A trip to New York wouldn’t be complete without a bit of shopping, so don’t forget your charge card or credit card and see what amazing things you can take back with you.
